HSE Holds Exams, Quizzes, and Selection Rounds for School Students in Tashkent and Bishkek

More than 3,000 international school students took part in the INTO HSE International Olympiad, whose award ceremonies were held in Tashkent and Bishkek in March 2026. The university’s outreach events also included final examinations, presentations of academic programmes, and on-site selection tests for prospective applicants. In Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, nearly 200 participants received diplomas as winners and prize-winners. The best of them will be eligible to apply for state-funded places at HSE.

HSE aims to become a full-fledged player in the international academic community. We realize that achieving this goal is possible only when faculty and students – our primary resource – see themselves as part of the international academic world. The Office of Internationalisation strives to create a friendly environment in our University that allows internationally and locally recruited faculty, staff and students to share a common language in all senses of this expression!

We see our main tasks as the following:

  • providing services that help international colleagues and students integrate smoothly into academic life at HSE
  • sharing experience with our colleagues: we collaborate with other administrative units in order to suggest ways to improve ineffective procedures that we encounter in our work with international faculty and students
  • promoting an integrated academic environment with English as a shared language of communication: a big part of our work is devoted to creating and maintaining English language information channels
